Music Leader

Fort Lewis Baptist Church is in the Glenvar area of Salem, VA (outside Roanoke). We are looking for a Music Leader to join our staff. Women and men are encouraged to apply.

The music leader will work alongside the lead pastor to help people worship Jesus through music. The only job pre-requirements are:

• be a committed Christ-follower who is willing to use your musical ability to help people worship Jesus
• be responsive to the Holy Spirit's leading in understanding the spiritual needs of people seeking to follow Christ

Job Duties

• Alongside the lead pastor, plan and coordinate the flow of the Sunday morning worship service and church-wide special events. The music leader will be given freedom to be creative and to try new ideas as long as Jesus is glorified.
• Lead all aspects of the music team experience including scheduling music team members, selecting 3-5 weekly songs, loading song files into Pro Presenter, leading rehearsals, and leading Sunday music. Rehearsals can be early Sunday morning if your work schedule does not allow mid-week practice.

Additional Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop, and train volunteers, and assist those individuals to reach their maximum potential through effective leadership, positive encouragement, and relational appreciation.
• Have an enthusiastic presence for leading worship through music.

 Compensation

• This is a part-time position (for now).
• Fort Lewis Baptist can provide an annual salary of at least $12,000 and free preschool or afterschool care for kids.
