Children’s Director Job Description

Qualifications:

- Be Trusted: You can be trusted to serve and direct the Children’s Ministry with excellence and integrity.
- Be a Recruiter: Actively promote the Children’s Ministry to families and the church and recruit volunteers to serve on your team.
- Be Available: Be ready and willing to minister to the needs of the Children's Ministry, solve problems, and assist team members.
- Be Positive: Your influence and enthusiasm about the children’s ministry will positively impact others to serve
- Be Teachable: Be humble and able to receive direction from others. Remember to always be a team player.
Expectations:
- Have direct oversight of planning, coordinating, and leading the Sunday morning kids program and mid-week children’s program.
- Build authentic relationships with adult volunteers and kids for the purpose of discipleship.
- Prepare and distribute Bible Lessons for the Sunday morning and mid-week programs to all volunteers.
- Teach regularly in your ministry.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Attend Sunday morning worship services regularly in a rotation with other children’s ministry volunteers. You must also be a member of Temple Baptist Church
- Planning and direct oversight of Vacation Bible School and other kids’ events throughout the year (e.g., Fall Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, etc.)
- Plan and organize teaching and activities for the children’s ministry when we have church wide events like Theology Week.
- Direct, manage, and attend Summer Camp for Children’s Ministry.
- Other occasional duties as assigned.
- Weekly Hours: 12-25 Hours
- Early childhood education or experience preferred
- Exceptionality/Special Needs training/experience preferred
- Remuneration: $22-25 per hour
