Associate Pastor of Children

Job Summary: The Associate Pastor of Children’s Ministries is responsible for planning and implementation of a comprehensive church program to introduce children to biblical teaching and spiritually educate them to be devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This includes the RISE Ministry (5th and 6th graders). Continuing in teaching them biblical truths and spiritual education and help them transition from Children’s ministry to Youth ministry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops and executes a comprehensive program of Christian development and education of children and RISE students
• Recruits leaders and workers for ministry positions
• Conducts and plans special training activities for leaders and workers
• Develops a welcoming, friendly relationship with parents; serves as a resource for parents.
• Directs and works alongside the Awana Commander to lead the AWANA ministry
• Coordinate and implement plans to minister to the local elementary schools (Good News Clubs, Eating lunch with children, etc.)
• Coordinates and oversees all aspects of Vacations Bible School
• Coordinates the scheduling and leading of summer children’s camp

Requirements:  

• Experience in children's ministry
• A Bachelor's degree in related field
