Description
Samuel Harris Memorial Baptist Church is a small, country church located in Pittsylvania County, VA (approximately 3 miles outside of the town of Chatham, VA). It is located approximately 1 hour from Greensboro, NC, Roanoke, VA and Lynchburg, VA. It was started in the 1960's as a mission and currently has 25-30 members in active attendance and participation. Membership ranges from a small group of children/youth to a large group of senior citizens. We may be small in number, but are a big family that loves God and are looking for a Pastor to help us grow individually and as a church.
Responsibilities
The Pastor would be responsible for leading and guiding the church through the following methods:
1. Providing the Sunday morning sermon at the 11:00 am service.
2. Conducting a Sunday evening Bible Study.
3. Attending and supporting other church activities as needed.
4. Visiting members who are sick, homebound or those in nursing or assisted living homes.
5. Buillding relationships with all members.
6. Share God's message in a relatable, down-to-earth way that the average person can understand.
Qualifications
1. Believes that the Bible is the infallable Word of God.
2. Has been ordained by a Baptist Church.
3. Prefer some previous experience in a leadership position at a Baptist Church.
