Children’s Director — Movement Church
Position Overview:
The Children’s Director at Movement Church leads the M-Kids ministry (birth through 5th grade), overseeing weekly Sunday programming, curriculum, volunteers, and events. This individual plays a vital role in the spiritual formation of children while supporting parents as the primary faith influencers in their kids’ lives.
In addition to leading M-Kids, the Children’s Director plays a key role in our Starting Point and guest assimilation strategy, helping new families and individuals feel welcomed, seen, and connected. From first visit to full engagement, this leader helps bridge the gap between attending and belonging, ensuring newcomers are supported in taking next steps into community, serving, and discipleship.
We are looking for a passionate, high-capacity leader who is relational, organized, and aligned with the mission and vision of Movement Church. The Children’s Director will collaborate with staff, volunteers, and families to create an engaging and gospel-centered environment where kids grow in their relationship with Jesus and connection to His church.
Primary Responsibilities:
M-Kids Ministry Leadership:
- Oversee all aspects of the M-Kids ministry for children 5th grade and under, including Sunday services, events, camps, and special programming.
- Recruit, train, and lead a dynamic team of volunteers and leaders to serve in weekly ministry roles.
- Ensure curriculum is biblically sound, age-appropriate, and engaging for each age group.
- Develop and steward the annual M-Kids budget, maximizing resources to support ministry effectiveness.
- Create an environment that encourages children to grow in their faith, connect with the church community, and engage in Christ’s mission.
Family & Parent Partnership:
- Equip and empower parents to be the primary disciplers of their children through resources, support, and communication.
- Develop programs and events that support family involvement and spiritual formation at home.
- Foster strong, open relationships with parents and caregivers.
Strategic Development & Communication:
- Implement strategies for ongoing discipleship, including mentoring, service opportunities, outreach, and mission experiences.
- Regularly evaluate M-Kids environments, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure excellence and alignment with church values.
- Collaborate with pastoral and ministry staff to support the overall vision and mission of Movement Church.
- Actively participate in staff meetings and contribute to a healthy team culture.
Starting Point / Connections Support:
- Coordinate logistics and food ordering for Starting Point events.
- Assist with the execution of Starting Point and guest assimilation strategies.
- Help manage the process of transitioning guests from first-time attenders to active participants in groups and serving teams.
- Ensure guests are connected with elders and ministry leaders for deeper engagement.
- Follow up with newcomers to ensure they feel welcomed and informed about next steps.
