Role Summary for Succeeding Senior Pastor
Twin Oaks Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a God-called man to serve alongside our current Senior Pastor, with the intention of transitioning into the Senior Pastor role. During this period, the Senior Pastor Successor will work closely with the current Pastor, gaining insight into the church's ministry while gradually assuming full leadership responsibilities.
The incoming Senior Pastor will lead the congregation through faithful Biblical preaching, compassionate pastoral care, and Christlike servant leadership. He will be responsible for shepherding the church, equipping the saints for ministry, and encouraging spiritual growth as we work together to fulfill the Great Commission.
Overview of Twin Oaks Baptist Church
Twin Oaks Baptist Church is a thriving and active congregation in Franklin County, Virginia. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia. Theologically conservative, we maintain an open-minded approach to ministry while upholding Biblical truth. Our worship services feature a blend of Praise and Worship and Traditional music styles.
We are a multi-generational church with a strong and growing presence of young families. Our congregation includes over 300 members, with an average of 275-300 attending Sunday morning worship. We offer a vibrant Wednesday evening program, including Awana for children, thriving Jr. High and Sr. High teen ministries, and an adult Bible study. Throughout the week, we provide various activities and Bible studies to encourage spiritual growth and community.

Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Pastor
Preaching & Teaching: Proclaim the Word of God through expository, Christ-centered preaching and teaching that is doctrinally sound and applicable to daily life
Shepherding & Pastoral Care: Offer compassionate pastoral care, counseling, and visitation, especially in times of crisis, illness, or bereavement
Spiritual Leadership: Provide vision and direction for the church's spiritual health and growth, encouraging discipleship and outreach
Evangelism & Community Engagement: Lead the church in outreach efforts, encouraging members to share the gospel and serve the local community
Leadership & Administration: Oversee church ministries, work closely with deacons and ministry leaders, and ensure effective communication with the church
Worship Oversight: Collaborate with worship leaders to ensure services honor God and edify the congregation
Stewardship & Church Growth: Encourage faithful stewardship of time, talents, and resources while fostering spiritual and numerical growth
Qualifications of the Senior Pastor
The candidate must have a Biblical worldview that shapes his beliefs, decisions, and ministry
He must possess a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and live a life that reflects Biblical integrity
His home life should demonstrate Godly leadership, love, and stability
He must have a deep commitment to the authority of Scripture and uphold doctrinal soundness in his teaching and ministry
He should have a clear calling to pastoral ministry, with demonstrated experience in preaching, teaching, and shepherding God's people
He must strive to lead with humility, wisdom, and a servant's heart
He should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine love for people
He must align with the beliefs and values of Twin Oaks Baptist Church
A college or seminary degree in Biblical or pastoral studies from an accredited institution is required
