The Worship Pastor is a man of God who is able to lead others in worship through music. He is responsible for overseeing, planning, and leading the church congregation in music and worship. This primarily includes directing the choir during rehearsals and services, while also overseeing the presentation of all worship music. The Worship Pastor is responsible to prepare the weekly order of worship services, using Planning Center (or other designated online planning software). He must also work in cooperation with other ministries of the church, including the media/sound ministry team, youth, and children’s ministries, and be able to provide guidance when necessary. Special events throughout the year will also require coordination and leadership from the Worship Pastor, including, but not limited to, annual revival services, Christmas program, and Easter Sunday celebrations. As a result, it is important that the Worship Pastor be someone who works well in a team environment, as this includes the various ministries in which they oversee, as well as working together with the rest of the church staff.
