Position Overview:
The Kids Administrator is available as a full-time or part-time role and provides essential leadership and administrative support to the Family Director (FD) in CBC Kids Ministry (birth–5th grade). This position plays a key role in partnering with parents to disciple their children while ensuring a safe, joyful, and gospel-centered environment. The KA will recruit, train, and support leaders and assistants while overseeing key children’s ministry programs such as Sunday morning programs, AWANA, VBS, childcare support for church events, and special programs.
Additionally, 20% of the KA’s time will be dedicated to supporting Student Ministry administrative needs, assisting with logistics, communication, and event coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and sustain a gospel-centered, joyful environment that welcomes visitors and helps children grow in their faith.
- Oversee and coordinate all CBC Kids Ministry events, including Sunday morning programs, AWANA, VBS, and childcare for churchwide events.
- Recruit, train, and equip Kids Ministry leaders and assistants with curriculum, role assignments, and ongoing encouragement.
- Lead the assimilation process for new families, ensuring follow-up with first-time guests and children with special needs or classroom difficulties.
- Be present and visible on Sunday mornings to provide support for leaders, assist with check-ins, and ensure volunteer needs are met.
- Develop and implement safety protocols, ensuring all volunteers are trained and following child protection policies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and volunteers, providing encouragement, updates, and discipleship resources.
- Plan and execute training and coaching events for Kids Ministry volunteers at least twice a year.
- Assist in marketing CBC Kids Ministry through brochures, flyers, newsletters, and event registration forms, in coordination with the Communications Administrator.
- Oversee administrative support for Student Ministry, including event logistics, volunteer coordination, registration, and communication.
- Assist with the transition of 6th graders from Kids Ministry into Student Ministry, coordinating with the Family Director.
- Research, select, and implement gospel-centered curriculum in conjunction with church leadership.
- Plan and oversee VBS (Vacation Bible School), including recruitment, training, and event execution.
- Supervise CBC Kids support staff, including contracted childcare workers, defining expectations and providing training.
Qualifications:
- Committed member of CBC (or willing to become one), with a strong Christian character.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 3+ years of ministry or administrative experience.
- Strong leadership and teaching abilities, with a passion for discipling children.
- Ability to recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and lay leaders effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple programs and events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating warmth and clarity.
- Ability to engage in difficult conversations with grace and truth, both with children and adults.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and event coordination tools (Planning Center Online experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with budgeting, spending procedures, and financial administration for ministry needs.
- A self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with pastors, staff, and volunteers.
- Ability to work on-site four days during the week, plus Sundays for ministry programming.
