Salary Range: $35,000-45,000 + Benefits Package

Position Summary

Southwest Community Church is prayerfully seeking a spiritually mature, energetic, and relational Student Director to lead our growing Student Ministry for students in grades 6–12. As our church grows and prepares to move into a new facility, we are looking for a hands-on leader to cultivate a vibrant, Christ-centered environment where students are known, welcomed into an authentic community, and discipled to grow in Christ. Working closely with the other staff, this role provides hands-on leadership for weekly programming, small groups, volunteer teams, parent communication, outreach, and events.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Weekly Programming: Lead midweek and weekend Student Ministry gatherings, discipleship environments, and special events.
  • Small Groups & Discipleship: Develop small groups where students grow in biblical truth, build genuine community, deepen peer relationships, and receive intentional spiritual mentorship.
  • Volunteer Team Development: Recruit, train, equip, and encourage student ministry volunteers, fostering a team culture marked by faithfulness, mutual encouragement, and prayer.
  • Parent Partnership: Maintain proactive, regular communication with families and encourage parents as primary disciple-makers in the home.
  • Events & Outreach: Plan camps, retreats, trips, outreach opportunities, and seasonal activities that help students grow in Christ and invite unchurched friends to hear the hope of the gospel. 
  • Administrative Stewardship: Manage ministry goals, calendars, budgets, and planning details with organization and follow-through.

  • Mature, consistent Christian walk exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit.
  • Genuine love for middle and high school students and a desire to see them grow in Christ.
  • Relational, approachable, and able to build trust with students, parents, volunteers, and staff.
  • Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to follow through on responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Cooperative teammate who stays calm, positive, and solution-oriented.
  • Handles sensitive information with wisdom, integrity, and confidentiality. 
  • Aligns with SWCC’s mission, vision, and leadership philosophy.
  • Willing to become a member of SWCC upon hire or within an agreed-upon timeframe.
  • Committed to a healthy balance between personal, family, and ministry life.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a church, ministry, student, or related leadership setting preferred.
